Actor Denies Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Covid Feature

The "Taken" star has lent his voice to a recent film that questions the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds former cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a bestselling book published by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for allegations that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The publication's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with far-right figure a known commentator. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the film.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of Neeson have provided a response firmly refuting claims that he holds anti-vax views.

"Everyone can acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "Neeson is not, and remains not, against vaccines. His considerable work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement continued that the performer did not shape the film's narrative and that questions about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Key Themes Featured in the Film

In the film, the narration read by Neeson includes several strong points:

  • It claims that pro-vaccine voices have called for "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "medical science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • RFK Jr is shown saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
  • The film also criticizes stay-at-home orders, saying they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Background and Ongoing Disputes

It also references a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the CDC to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This assertion is also referenced in the film, even with a recent study from the WHO confirming no such link has been found.

A Previous Statement of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has previously shown strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
