Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments this season because of a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning next year's training.

Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
