🔗 Share this article Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 individuals who were patients. The Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Investigation The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley. The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. List of Charges Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration. Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
