In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region. Operation "Truthful Promise 4" Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning. That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government. The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued. It said missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities. The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
