Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week. The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club McKenna described the Glasgow giants as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town. The mid-thirties took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the second division and they currently sit twelfth place in England's second tier. "I have not had such conversations," the English capital native ex- Irish young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist. "This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my focus is currently. "I possess a unique job here at a special team. And we're at a crucial phase of the season. Everything external hasn't reached my radar." Context and Agreement Details Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances. "Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about those. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive sports organization." The coach signed a new four-year contract in last year and was questioned about his alleged £5m release clause. "Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you anyway! "I approach this role like I'll be Ipswich manager forever. I understand that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as long as I am here." Bellamy's Position The former striker played for Celtic on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh striker is minded to finish the ongoing global tournament campaign, a position that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job. The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia. Victories over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in November would secure their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of making those, due to a productive European competition performance, should they fail to end up Group J second place. Considering his present stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until following the qualifying matches at the earliest.
