Recent Particulars Surface Concerning the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

A Initial Report

As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the home. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family also disputed several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Additionally disputed published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
