The Liverpool striker, who has been sidelined since 22 October because of a groin injury, has been chosen for the World Cup games versus Switzerland (15 November) and Slovenia (November 18th)

Additional England-based Inclusions

• Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering after a head knock
• Newcastle winger Anthony Elanga

These players were included in Potter's Premier League players named under former Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss the new Swedish coach

The New Manager's Role

Potter was appointed the Swedish federation initially on a short-term basis in late October, less than a month after his departure from West Ham

Previous manager Jon Dahl Tomasson lost his job following Sweden's setback to the Kosovan team on 13 October, an outcome that made straight qualification in qualifying group out of reach

Current Standing

Sweden are currently last place in Group B having only a single point from four matches

Even if they don't manage to secure second place, they could still participate in the qualification playoffs because thanks to their showing in the latest UEFA competition
